Club Championships 2018 Results

The Club Championships for 2018 have been completed and congratulations to the following winners in the finals:

Spring 2018 Grand Final Results and Autumn 2019 Fixtures Now Available

In December the Club played in several Grand Finals

  • The C Grade 4 Juniors Team were defeated by Buckley Park.
  • The Thursday Section 5 Ladies team defeated Keilor and didn’t even lose a set.


  • The Wednesday Night Mixed A Reserve 2 were defeated by Westmeadows in their semi final.
  • The Thursday Night Mens C Reserve 4 team were also defeated by Westmeadows in their semi final.

Congratulations to all of the winners and thanks to everyone for a great season.

In addition various associations have released the fixtures for the 2019 season:

    • The NSNTA Mens Season starts Thursday 31 January 2019 and the fixture is available on the NSNTA Web Site
    • The NSNTA Ladies Season starts Tuesday 5 February 2019 and the fixture is available on the NSNTA Web Site
    • The NSNTA Mixed Season starts Wednesday 6 February 2019 and the fixture is available on the NSNTA Web Site
    • The NSLTA Thursday Ladies starts Thursday 7 February 2019 and the preliminary fixture is available on the NSLTA Web Site.


Spring Finals 2018 Semi Finals Update

The Club has quite a few teams playing in finals in the past week, here’s an update on the matches:

  • The Saturday Afternoon A Grade team were defeated by Maribyrnong Park by 11 games.
  • The Saturday Afternoon A Reserve team were defeated by Moomba Park by 10 games.
  • The Saturday Afternoon B Grade team were defeated by Gladstone Park by 17 games.
  • The Tuesday Night Ladies D Special team were defeated by Green Gully by only one game.
  • The Thursday Afternoon Ladies Section 5 team defeated Essendon by 19 games.
  • The Thursday Night Mens B Special 4 team were defeated by Keilor by 12 games.

Commiserations to all teams that lost their finals, the Club was well represented in what has been a great finals series.

In the coming week we have the following teams playing in finals:

  • The C Grade 4 Juniors Team play Buckley Park at Oak Park today.
  • The Thursday Afternoon Section 5 Ladies team will play Keilor at Buckley park this Thursday in the Grand Final.
  • The Wednesday Night Mixed A Reserve 2 washed out last week and will play Westmeadows at Maribyrnong Park in a semi final this Wednesday.
  • The Thursday Night Mens C Reserve 4 team washed out last week will play Westmeadows at Tullamarine in a semi final this Thursday.

Good luck to all teams who play finals in the coming week, everyone from the Club is welcome to attend the finals to support the teams.

Doutta Galla Club Championships 2018 - Now On

The Draws and Schedule for the 2018 Doutta Galla Club Championships are now available. Matches start on Sunday 25th November and continue on Saturday 1st December, Sunday 2nd December with all finals to be played on Saturday 8th December prior to the Club’s Christmas Party that night.

Spring 2018 Finals Update

The Spring Seasons have come to a close and the Club has quite a few teams in finals in the coming weeks:

  • The NSTA B Grade Mixed team play Gladstone Park this Saturday at home.
  • The NSTA A Reserve Singles / Doubles team play Moomba Park this Saturday at home.
  • The NSTA A Grade Singles / Doubles team play Maribyrnong Park this Saturday at Maribyrnong Park.
  • The NSNTA D Special Ladies team play Green Gully this Tuesday at Oak Park.
  • The NSNTA A Reserve 2 Mixed team play Westmeadows this Wednesday at Marbyrnong Park.
  • The NSNTA B Special 4 Mens team play Keilor this Thursday at Maribyrnong Park
  • The NSNTA C Reserve 4 Mens team play Westmeadows this Thursday at Tullamarine.

If any team captains require additional tennis balls for the finals please contact the Club.

Team Entries for the Autumn 2019 Season are now Open

Team entries for the Autumn 2019 Seasons are now open for the following competitions:

  • NSNTA – Weeknights
  • NSLTA – Thursday afternoon Ladies
  • NSTA – Saturday afternoons
  • NSJTA – Juniors Friday night and Saturday afternoon

Entries for all competitions close on Monday 26th November. If you are interested in playing please write your name on the sign up sheets in the Club House, contact your team captain or send the Club an Email.

Doutta Galla Club Championships 2018 - Entries Now Open

Entries are now open for the 2018 Doutta Galla Club Championships.

Entries close on Friday 16th November, with the Draws and Schedule to be published on Sunday 18th November.

Matches commence on Sunday 25th November, depending on the number of matches to be played, with all Grand Finals to be played on Saturday 8th December. If you can’t make your assigned match you can contact your opponent to reschedule, however any rescheduled matches must be completed prior to the winner’s next match.

The presentation of trophies to the winners will occur at the Club’s Christmas Party on the Saturday evening.

The following events are looking to be held, depending on the number of entrants:

  • Mens Open Singles (All ages)
  • Ladies Open Singles (All ages)
  • Mens Doubles (Handicaps apply, all ages)
  • Ladies Doubles (Handicaps apply, all ages)
  • Junior Boys Singles
  • Junior Girls Singles
  • Junior Boys Doubles
  • Junior Girls Doubles
  • Mixed Junior Doubles
  • Mixed Open Doubles

Access to Club is restricted due to an issue

Due to an issue at the Club yesterday afternoon, access to club front door is restricted for the next few days.

There is a different lock / key on front door and to access you will need to call Aaron Sharpe on 0407 885 012  to gain access to the Club.

The Club apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Working Bee on this Sunday

The annual Doutta Galla Working Bee is on this Sunday 21st October from 12pm to 3pm.

All are welcome to help perform key maintenance on the Club and ensure it stays beautiful for another 12 months.

A reminder to please bring down any equipment to help, such as wheelbarrows, shovels, gloves, weeding gear, cleaning products, or whatever you think will help.

One of the large tasks we have is to shovel sand onto the court, so especially please bring any equipment down that will assist with this big task.

Financial Adult and Family Members that attend are entitled to receive their $40 Maintenance Levy.

Bunnings Fundraising a Success

The Club held a sausage sizzle stand at Bunnings Maribyrnong on Sunday and it was a huge success. The Club raised a great amount of money and we sold hundreds of sausages.

The Club is greatly appreciates the assistance of local community businesses in supplying goods for the stand:

A big thank you go to the volunteers who manned the stand throughout the day and assisted in the preparations, including Kathy Glass, Darija Ragg, Bec Fitzgerald, Nicole Stewart, Steven Linforth, John O’Rielly, Aaron Sharpe, Anthony Guccione and Tim Benton.

A special thank you to our Treasurer Kat Glass who organised the whole event who worked tirelessly throughout the process.
