Coronavirus Restrictions Update – More than 2 households can now play

The Victorian Government announced recently that community sport can now commence.

For tennis this means that there is no longer a restriction where players are limited to two households only.

Tennis may now be played with the minimum number of players needed to play, which means that doubles can be played with members from up to four different households.

The Committee requests that players only play with a maximum of 4 different players for any one session of play and continue to observe social distancing of being 1.5m apart.

Players are also reminded that there should be no off court social activities.

Group coaching is also commencing with a limit of 10 players per group.

It is a condition of play that all players that visit the club complete a Player Registration Form each time you play.

Club Reopened as Coronavirus Restrictions have been lifted

On the weekend the Victorian Government lifted restrictions applied due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. Play at outdoor Tennis Courts is now permitted under certain conditions.

The Club will now reopen for Members and the Public to use through the Book a Court System as well as Coaching.

Access to the Club is permitted under the following conditions:

  • Members may only play after they have booked a court. Members may not play unless they have booked a court. You can book a court through the Doutta Galla Web Site at
  • After you play at the Club you must complete the Club’s Contact Tracing Form asking for you to provide the Names of all Players, Members and Non-Members, that will be playing with you at the Club. It is a condition of play that this is completed and sent back to the Committee. The purpose of this information is for Contact Tracing in the event of a confirmed case.
  • Players per each court booking must be either:
    • From the same household (a maximum of four players); or
    • From two individual households (a maximum of four players total).
  • Players must not mix with other groups playing on other courts.
  • Equipment must not be shared between players.
  • The Committee has placed hand sanitiser at the entrance to the Club. Hand sanitiser should be used before and after using the keypad on the gate.
  • Coaching will now commence. Coaching times are blocked out in the Book a Court system. The Club Coach, Anthony Guccione, will be providing advice to all coaching students directly.
  • Access to the main room of the Club House will not be available. Access is available to the Toilets through the rear door of the Club. Your regular club key will give you access.
  • The First Aid Kit and the Defibrillator are located in the Toilets and may be used in case of emergencies.
  • A restricted number of people may watch in the viewing areas of the Club, such as parents while coaching is underway. A maximum of 4 people may sit at the front of the Club and a maximum of 6 people may sit at the rear of the Club. Spectators are also encouraged to watch in the park. All spectators must maintain social distancing at all times.

The Club has prepared a COVID Safe Plan which can be viewed on our Web Site and at the Club.

Club is Closed due to Coronavirus Restrictions

The Club has been closed until further notice based on advice from the Victorian Government, Tennis Victoria and the Moonee Valley City Council.

The Book a Court System has been closed and no Members are permitted to visit the Club or use the Courts until the restrictions are lifted.

The Club will re-open based on advice from the Victorian Government.

The Committee wishes all of our Members well during these restrictions and we are looking forward to all being able to play Tennis again.

Coronavirus Restrictions Update

With restrictions being reapplied to Metropolitan Melbourne the Committee has re-evaluated the restrictions applied to the Club. Based on recommendations from the Moonee Valley City Council and Tennis Victoria the following restrictions now apply:

  • The Club will remain open for Members and the Public to use through the Book a Court System.
  • Players must be either:
    • From the same household; or
    • Two individual players from different households (max. two players only).
  • Coaching can continue but only private lessons for members of the same household.
  • Equipment must not be shared between players.

All Members and Public Players must continue to complete the Player Registration form. This will be strictly enforced and if these forms are not completed bookings may be suspended in the future for the players.

Unfortunately the plans to resume competition in 2020 have all been put on hold until restrictions are lifted.
