A recent incident at the Essendon Tennis Club has highlighted the need to be mindful of the security of Tennis Clubs.
On the evening of Thursday 28 December 2017 a gang of about 14 teenagers carrying weapons and abused Essendon members playing tennis. The members involved in the incident acted promptly and contacted the Police who were quick to respond and deal with the situation.
The Committee and the Moonee Valley City Council advises members that if they notice any suspicious activity around the Tennis Club or if you are concerned for your safety or the safety of any of the Club’s members or visitors to contact the Police. Once any issues have been resolved we appreciate that you notify the Committee so we are aware and can take any actions necessary.
