Quambatook Labour Day Weekend Tournament

Quambatook Club LogoSeveral Doutta Galla members make the trip every Labour Day Long Weekend to Quambatook in Northern Victoria for a Tennis Tournament, and are currently recruiting members to join them up for a greate weekend of tennis action.

Quambatook is a small town of approximately 250 people in the southern mallee, 40 kms west of Kerang and 60kms south of Swan Hill. The Quamby Lawn Tennis Club has been holding the Labour Day Tournament for over 50 years. The club has 9 grass courts and despite the drought has managed to secure its water supply for this season. The tournament is played on a knockout basis with players generally entering in 2 grades to give themselves the best chance of progressing.

Being a small town, all facilities including the Hotel, General Store, Tennis Courts and Town Hall are within a 5 min walk of the Caravan Park, the Swimming Pool is right next door to the Tennis Club if you feel the need to cool down. The Tennis Club provides meals across the weekend including breakfast, lunch and evening meals and also features a well stocked bar to keep you hydrated!

Accomodation includes the caravan park which has Bunkhouse accomodation, each room sleeping 6 people with en suite bathroom facilities. There are also plenty of caravan sites plus powered and non powered tent sites.

Bookings can be made through Jackie Ritchie on 0428 857 122 or 54571244 . There are also a small number of rooms at the Quambatook Hotel. For bookings call 5457 1206.

The Tennis Club also provides social/entertainment functions each night of the weekend, so what are you waiting for? Come to Quambatook for some real country hospitality and one of the greatest tennis weekends around.
