Autumn Finals Update

The Club has had lots of teams in Finals in the past few weeks, with a few Grand Finals:

  • The Thursday Ladies Section 3 (Red) team won their Semi Final this week, defeating Buckley Park 41 games to 27. The team consisted of Vicki, Penny, Frances, Kim and Kathy. They play Rosamond in their Grand Final this Thursday at Rosamond, which will be a big task as Rosamond are undefeated so far this season.
  • The A Reserve 4 Unisex Juniors team play their Semi Final today against Hadifeld at Ascot Vale.
  • The D Special 3 Unisex Juniors team play their Semi Final today against Sydenham at Essendon.
  • The Ladies B Special 1 team lost to St. Monica’s by six games. The team consisted of Ashley, Vicki, Jan and Tracey.
  • The Mixed B Grade 2 team lost to Gladstone Park. The team consisted of Vanessa, Bella, Matthew and Shaymus.
  • The Mens B Special 5 team lost their Semi Final to Buckley Park by nine games. The team, consisting of Warren, Greg, Tim and Kieran, started strongly but Buckley Park played to well.

NSNTA Semi Finals for the Autumn 2024 Season are now on

The NSNTA regular season has come to a close and the Finals Series is about to begin. The Club has a number of teams playing in Semi Finals this week:

  • The Ladies B Special 1 team play St. Monica’s on Tuesday night at West Brunswick
  • The Mixed B Grade 2 team play Gladstone Park on Wednesday night at Strathmore
  • The Mens B Special 5 team play Buckley Park on Thursday night at Airport West

Please note that the Club will be hosting the following Finals:

  • Ladies C Reserve 2 Semi Final on Tuesday 21 May
  • Mens B Special 4 Semi Final on Thursday 23 May

Team Entries are also open for the NSNTA Spring Season, commencing in August. If you wish to play next Season please contact the Club or your Team Captain to confirm your interest.

Annual General Meeting scheduled for Sunday 16 June

The Club’s Annual General Meeting is scheduled for Sunday 16 June 2024 from 7:30pm at the Clubhouse.

The Meeting will involve a summary of the year within the Club as well as any other business for the coming year. The Committee as well as office bearers for the 2024 / 2025 year will also be nominated.

All Members are welcome to attend the AGM. If any Members are unable to attend and wish for a topic to be discussed, you are welcome to send the Club an Email and we will place your topic on the agenda.

Club Shirts now available for order

The Club has organised a new Club Shirt that is now available for members to purchase.

There are two options available: Navy Blue and White. If you wish to view a sample of the shirts available, these are on display in the Club House.

Payment is made at the end of the form. We will not be placing an order for you unless payment is made.

Open Day is on Next Sunday

The Club’s Open Day will be held on Sunday 11th February 2024 from 10am to 4pm.

All are welcome to attend a free day of Tennis, including old and young, hosted by our Club Coach, Guccione Tennis. The Club will also be providing a free BBQ as well as Face Painting (from lunchtime onwards).

Autumn 2024 Season fixtures have been published

Both the NSNTA and the NSLTA have published their fixtures for the upcoming season, which are available on their web sites.

The seasons start on the following dates:

  • Thursday Ladies – Thursday 1st February
  • Thursday Mens – Thursday 1st February
  • Tuesday Ladies – Tuesday 6th February
  • Wednesday Mixed – Wednesday 7th February

We are expecting the NSJTA to publish their fixture shortly.

Captains will be contacted later in the month to pick up the balls and result sheets.

Christmas Party this Saturday

We are trying again to hold the Club’s Christmas Party after the recent Party was cancelled due to heavy rain.

So come down this Saturday night 16th December from 5:30pm to approx. 7:30pm for a small BBQ with drinks provided.

The Junior Team Awards and Trophies will be presented at 6:30pm.

All Members and friends of the Club are welcome.

Spring Finals Update

The Club’s teams had a successful week with finals, with a number of teams winning their finals and advancing to the Grand Final this week:

  • The Thursday Ladies Section 4 team played their Grand Final and defeated Buckley Park. (Correction, originally this post stated that this team lost, they actually won. Sorry to the team and well done!)
  • The Juniors A Reserve 4 team won their Semi Final against Airport West and play Deer Park in the Grand Final this Saturday.
  • The Juniors C Special 2 team lost to Buckley Park.
  • The Juniors C Grade 2 team lost to Deer Park .
  • The Tuesday Ladies B Special 1 team lost to Buckley Park.
  • The Tuesday Ladies C Reserve 2 team lost to Strathmore.
  • The Mixed B Reserve 1 team defeated West Brunswick and will play in the Grand Final against Buckley Park at Gladstone Park on Wednesday night.
  • The Mens B Special 5 team defeated Hillside and will play in the Grand Final against Taylor’s Lakes at Airport West on Thursday night.

Congratulations to all teams who made the finals and thanks to all teams for playing this season.

Christmas Party on Saturday 2nd December

The Club’s Annual Christmas Party is on Saturday 2nd December from 6pm onwards.

A BBQ, Beer, Wine and Soft Drink are provided. We ask that you bring some salad a dessert or anything else you wish to share.

The Club Championships Finals will be on at the time as well as the Club’s Awards and Presentations for the year and the Junior Team Medallions.
