Autumn Finals Update

Commiserations to the Mens B Special 3 Team who were narrowly defeated in last Thursday’s Grand Final by four games. After a slow start to the match the team, consisting of Aleks, Michael, Warren and Greg, fought back and worried the team from Royal Park on a freezing cold night. Well done to the team for a great season.

The Semi Finals for the NSLTA have been announced with the Section 5 Team playing Keilor at home. The date for this match is to be confirmed due to the current lockdown, however it is currently scheduled for Thursday 10th June.

The Finals in the Juniors have yet to be announced due to the current lockdown.

NSNTA Semi Finals Update

The first week of the NSNTA Semi Finals have been completed and the Club has one team that has progressed to the Grand Final:

  • The Mens B Special 3 team, consisting of Michael, Warren, Tim and Greg, defeated Royal Park by a single game. They play Royal Park at Merlynston in the Grand Final on Thursday night.

The following teams also played their Semi Finals last week:

  • The Ladies B Special 2 team, consisting of Ashley, Nicole, Jan and Tracey, lost to St. Monica’s by 6 games.
  • The Ladies C Reserve 2 team, consisting of Denise, Elizabeth, Connie and Darija, lost to Oak Park by 27 games.
  • The Mens B Grade 2 team, consisting of Will, Steven, Liam and Rod, lost to Gladstone Park by 4 games.
  • The Mens C Special 2 team, consisting of Andrew, Trevor, Liam and Russell, lost to Hume by 10 games.

Please note that the A Reserve 1 Mixed Team are scheduled to host the Grand Final this Wednesday 26 May.

Well done to all teams who made the finals and good luck to the Mens team playing their grand final on Thursday.

NSNTA Semi Finals Announced

With the NSNTA regular season coming to a close the Finals Fixture has been announced. The Club has 5 teams playing in finals this week:

  • The Ladies B Special 2 team play St. Monica’s at Strathmore on Tuesday night.
  • The Ladies C Reserve 2 team play Oak Park at Tullamarine on Tuesday night.
  • The Mens B Special 3 team play Maribyrnong Park at Sydenham on Thursday night.
  • The Mens B Grade 2 team play Gladstone Park at Sunbury on Thursday night.
  • The Mens C Special 2 team play Hume at Craigieburn on Thursday night.

Please note that the A Reserve 1 Mixed Team are scheduled to host the Grand Final on Wednesday 26 May.

New Contact Tracing Form

The Victorian Government has requested that all Victorian Businesses and Organisations update their Contact Tracing Form to use the Services Victoria Contact Tracing App.

Members, Visitors and Spectators at the Doutta Galla Tennis Club are requested to use this App instead of the Club’s Form which is no longer published. Signs are being added as soon as possible to the Club.

The Victorian Government advise that this data will be held securely, deleted within 24 days and used for the sole purpose of Contact Tracing.

The Committee wishes to remind all Players, including Members, Non Members, opposing Team Players, Visitors and Spectators that they must complete this form when arriving at the Club as it is a Victorian Government requirement.

The Committee thanks everyone for the continued cooperation with this requirement.

Club is now open as Coronavirus Restrictions have lifted

As the Coronavirus restrictions have now lifted the Club is now open from Thursday 18th February for competition, coaching and social play for Members and Members of the Public.

Matches in the Men’s Competition on Thursday Night and the Junior Competition on Friday and Saturday are to be played as normal.

Please remember to follow all guidelines when you are at the Club, including maintaining social distancing as much as possible and completing the Player Check In Form for Contact Tracing each time you are at the Club. Please refer to our COVID Safe Plan for further details.

Club Closed until further notice

Due do the Victorian Lockdown due to a new Coronavirus update the Club is to be closed from Saturday 13th February until further notice. It is hoped that the Lockdown will last only the 5 days and will be lifted on Thursday 18th February.

Juniors competition for Friday 12th February and Saturday 13th February has been cancelled.

It is highly likely that Tuesday Night Ladies for Tuesday 16th February and Wednesday Night Mixed on Wednesday 17th February will also be cancelled, although this is pending a statement from the NSNTA.

Coaching is cancelled until the Lockdown ends.

The Victorian Government will provide an update on Wednesday 17th February if the Lockdown will be lifted or it will continue.

The Committee wishes all our Members well during this time and we all hope this is over soon.

NSNTA Season Commencing and COVID-Safe Guidelines

The NSNTA 2021 Seasons are set to commence shortly and the Association has published COVID-Safe Guidelines that are to be followed by all Players, Teams and Clubs. The key changes are:

  • All players and spectators must check in on arrival using the Doutta Galla Contact Tracing Form. Teams can register using the same form.
  • Supper is not required to be provided.
  • Clubrooms are not required to be open, except for the use of toilets.
  • No handshakes and minimise contact between players.

Open Day on Sunday 7 February

The Doutta Galla Tennis Club’s annual Open Day is on Sunday 7th February from 10am to 4pm. Everyone and anyone is welcome to come down to the Club, have a hit with the coach and play some tennis – all for free.

The Club is hosting:

  • Hit the Target competitions

Team Entries Now Open for Autumn 2021 Seasons

Team entries for all Senior and Junior teams are now open for the Autumn 2021 Seasons.

If you are interested in playing next season please notify the Selection Committee by sending the Club an Email with your details.

Entries close for Junior teams on 1st December and for Seniors on 13th December for
