Autumn 2026 Grand Final Updates

The Club had three teams playing in Grand Finals recently:

  • The A Grade 3 Boys Team won their Grand Final recently, defeating Royal Park TBA to TBA. The Team, consisting of Oren, Tomo, Sam, Ethan and Alex.

  • The D Special 2 Unisex Team came runner up in their Grand Final to Mt. Carmel by 5 games, 29 to 25. The team, consisting of Magnus, Anton, Nathaniel and Matiyar, won the same amount of sets as Mt. Carmel, however a Mt. Carmel
  • The Doutta Galla Black Thursday Ladies Team also came runner up in their Grand final to Buckley Park, losing in a close game by 5 games. The team, consisting of TBA, fought hard throughout the match, however Buckley Park handled the strong windy conditions well and used their home courts to their advantage.

Congratulations to the A Grade 3 Team on their win and commiserations to the D Special 2 Juniors and the Doutta Galla Black Thursday Ladies Team, it is a great achievement to make a Grand Final in a season.

Spring Finals Update

The Spring Seasons have come to a close and the Club had many teams playing finals:

  • The B Reserve 2 Ladies Team lost their Semi Final to Essendon on sets.
  • The B Special 1 Mixed Team lost their Semi Final to Taylor’s Lakes by sixteen games.
  • The B Special 2 Mens Team lost their Semi Final to Taylor’s Lakes by four games.
  • The Airport West/Doutta Galla A Grade 2 Juniors team won Semi Final, defeating Buckley Park, then won their Grand Final defeating St. Therese’s/Essendon by one game.
  • The A Grade 3 Boys Juniors team lost their Semi Final to Greenvale by 27 games.
  • The B Grade 2 Unisex Juniors Team won their Semi Final to Delahey by eight games, however lost their Grand Final to Sunbury by 17 games.

Comiserations to all teams who didn’t win their final and thanks for all teams for playing this year.

NSNTA Autumn Finals Update and Teams for the Spring 2022 Season

The NSNTA regular season has come to a close this week with the Semi Finals to commence next week. The club has four teams playing in finals this week:

  • The Ladies B Special 1 team play Oak Park at West Brunswick on Tuesday night.
  • The Ladies C Reserve 2 team play Digger’s Rest at Sunbury on Tuesday night.
  • The Mixed A Reserve 2 team play Merlynston at Buckley Park on Wednesday night.
  • The Mens C Special 2 team play Glencairn at Greenvale

The Committee wishes all teams luck for the finals and thanks all teams for their participation this season.

The Team Entries are also open for next season. Please contact your Team’s captain if you wish to play again next season or you can contact the Club and we will register your interest. Entries must be submitted by Saturday 4th June.

Contact Tracing Check In Form

As per Victorian Government Requirements all Visitors to the Club, including Members, Opposition Players, Visitors and Guests , is required to complete the Contract Tracing Check In form when arriving at the Club.

The Committee requests that all Members please make a special effort to complete this check in each time so that in the event of another Coronavirus outbreak Contact Tracers can identify anyone that attended the Club.

The Committee thanks all Members and Visitors for performing these check ins to help the government manage the pandemic.

NSNTA Season Commencing and COVID-Safe Guidelines

The NSNTA 2021 Seasons are set to commence shortly and the Association has published COVID-Safe Guidelines that are to be followed by all Players, Teams and Clubs. The key changes are:

  • All players and spectators must check in on arrival using the Doutta Galla Contact Tracing Form. Teams can register using the same form.
  • Supper is not required to be provided.
  • Clubrooms are not required to be open, except for the use of toilets.
  • No handshakes and minimise contact between players.

Open Day on Sunday 7 February

The Doutta Galla Tennis Club’s annual Open Day is on Sunday 7th February from 10am to 4pm. Everyone and anyone is welcome to come down to the Club, have a hit with the coach and play some tennis – all for free.

The Club is hosting:

  • Free Coaching
  • Speed Serving
  • Hit the Target competitions
  • And much more

Team Entries Now Open for Autumn 2021 Seasons

Team entries for all Senior and Junior teams are now open for the Autumn 2021 Seasons.

If you are interested in playing next season please notify the Selection Committee by sending the Club an Email with your details.

Entries close for Junior teams on 1st December and for Seniors on 13th December for

The starting dates for the competitions are:

  • Juniors – Friday Teams – 29th January 2021
  • Juniors – Saturday Teams – 30th January 2021
  • NSNTA – Ladies – 2nd February 2021
  • NSNTA – Mixed – 3rd February 2021
  • NSNTA – Men’s – 4th February 2021

Coronavirus Restrictions Update – More than 2 households can now play

The Victorian Government announced recently that community sport can now commence.

For tennis this means that there is no longer a restriction where players are limited to two households only.

Tennis may now be played with the minimum number of players needed to play, which means that doubles can be played with members from up to four different households.

The Committee requests that players only play with a maximum of 4 different players for any one session of play and continue to observe social distancing of being 1.5m apart.

Players are also reminded that there should be no off court social activities.

Group coaching is also commencing with a limit of 10 players per group.

It is a condition of play that all players that visit the club complete a Player Registration Form each time you play.
