Club Championships Completed

The Doutta Galla Club Championships for 2025 have been completed, with a wide range of people competing in the tournament. Congratulations to the winners

  • Boys Doubles: Michael defeated Warren (6-1, 4-6, 10-7 STB)
  • Boys Singles: John defeated Gus (8-2)
  • Mens Doubles: Walter and Warren defeated Ben and Michael (8-2)
  • Mixed Doubles: Annette and Michael defeated Ashley and Andrew (8-6)
  • Boys Doubles: Ansh and Ethan defeated Emaan and Gus (8-6)

Pennant Finals Update

The Club’s Pennant Team recently played in the first round of the Finals and were defeated by Essendon in a very close match. The Team, consisting of Warren, Ben, Tim, Clinton and Steven and won both doubles sets and fought hard in the singles. Essendon’s singles game was too strong, with them winning all four rubbers – three of the four in match tie breaks in lieu of a third set.

The Committee congratulates the team for making the finals and thanks everyone who played in the team for a great season.

NSNTA Grand Final and NSJTA Semi Final Updates

The NSNTA Grand Finals were played for the Autumn 2025 Season last week and the Club’s Mens B Special 3 team were narrowly defeated by Craigieburn at St. Therese’s in a very close match. The Team, consisting of Tim, Warren, Wally and Kieran with Ben in reserve, were up early but Craigieburn stormed home. The team wishes to thank all those that supported the team on the night in what was a very strong Doutta Galla presence in the stands.

The NSJTA’s Semi Finals are also played this week, with the Club having three teams play finals:

  • The A Grade 2 Boys Combined team with Airport West play Hume on Friday night at Airport West.
  • The A Reserve 2 Boys play Maribyrnong Park on Friday night at home.
  • The B Reserve 1 Unisex team play Gladstone Park on Saturday morning at Glencairn.

The Committee wishes to congratulate the Mens B Special 3 team on their season and wishes the Junior teams luck in their finals this weekend. We thank all Juniors teams for playing this season.

NSNTA Autumn Semi Finals Update

The Club had a number of teams playing in the NSNTA Semi Finals last week, with the Club having one team play in a Grand Final this week:

  • The Mixed B Grade 2 team lost to Princes Hill, with the team consisting of Bella, Carly, Joshua and Shaymus.
  • The Mens B Special 3 team defeated Hume to advance to the Grand Final, with the team consisting of Tim, Warren, Wally and Kieran. They play Craigieburn at St. Therese’s on Thursday.
  • The Mens B Special 4 team lost to West Brunswick, with the team consisting of Clinton James, Will and James.
  • The Mens C Special 4 team lost to Keilor East, with the team consisting of Andrew, Liam, John and Trevor.

Please note that Doutta Galla will be hosting Ladies C Reserve 2 Grand Final on Tuesday 27 May.

The Committee congratulates all Teams that made the finals and wishes the Mens B Special 3 team good luck for the coming Grand Final on Thursday.

NSNTA Autumn Semi Finals are on this week

With the NSNTA Autumn Season wrapping up this week the Club has a number of teams playing in Semi Finals this week, including all three Mens team playing in Finals:

  • The Mixed B Grade 2 Team play Princes Hill at Green Gully on Wednesday night.
  • The Mens B Special 3 Team play Hume at Maribyrnong Park on Thursday night.
  • The Mens B Special 4 Team play West Brunswick at Merlynston on Thursday night.
  • The Mens C Special 4 Team play Keilor East at Buckley Park on Thursday night.

Please note that Doutta Galla will be hosting the following finals:

  • Ladies B Reserve 1 Semi Final on 20 May
  • Ladies C Reserve 2 Grand Final on 27 May

Team Entries for the NSNTA Spring Season close on Friday 30 May, so if you are interested in playing next season please speak to your Team’s captain or contact the Club directly.

Spring Semi Finals and Team Entries for next Season

With the Spring seasons coming to a close it’s now time for the Finals. The Club has the following teams in the finals this week, with the Juniors playing their last rounds this weekend.

  • The B Grade 2 Mixed Team play Mt Carmel at Greenvale on Wednesday night.
  • The Section 3 Ladies Team play Royal Park at Royal Park on Thursday.
  • The Section 4 Ladies Team play Strathmore at Strathmore on Thursday.
  • The B Special 5 Mens Team play Craigieburn at Oak Park on Thursday night.

The Committee thanks all players for playing this season and we wish the teams playing this week good luck in their finals.

Entries for next Season are now open. If you wish to play next Season please register your interest to play with your team’s captain or contact the Club.

The NSNTA regular season has come to a close and the Finals Series is about to begin. The Club has a number of teams playing in Semi Finals this week:

  • The Ladies B Special 1 team play St. Monica’s on Tuesday night at West Brunswick
  • The Mixed B Grade 2 team play Gladstone Park on Wednesday night at Strathmore
  • The Mens B Special 5 team play Buckley Park on Thursday night at Airport West

Please note that the Club will be hosting the following Finals:

  • Ladies C Reserve 2 Semi Final on Tuesday 21 May
  • Mens B Special 4 Semi Final on Thursday 23 May

Team Entries are also open for the NSNTA Spring Season, commencing in August. If you wish to play next Season please contact the Club or your Team Captain to confirm your interest.

Spring Finals Update

The Club’s teams had a successful week with finals, with a number of teams winning their finals and advancing to the Grand Final this week:

  • The Thursday Ladies Section 4 team played their Grand Final and defeated Buckley Park. (Correction, originally this post stated that this team lost, they actually won. Sorry to the team and well done!)
  • The Juniors A Reserve 4 team won their Semi Final against Airport West and play Deer Park in the Grand Final this Saturday.
  • The Juniors C Special 2 team lost to Buckley Park.
  • The Juniors C Grade 2 team lost to Deer Park .
  • The Tuesday Ladies B Special 1 team lost to Buckley Park.
  • The Tuesday Ladies C Reserve 2 team lost to Strathmore.
  • The Mixed B Reserve 1 team defeated West Brunswick and will play in the Grand Final against Buckley Park at Gladstone Park on Wednesday night.
  • The Mens B Special 5 team defeated Hillside and will play in the Grand Final against Taylor’s Lakes at Airport West on Thursday night.

Congratulations to all teams who made the finals and thanks to all teams for playing this season.

NJSTA and NSLTA Finals Update

Last month the Juniors and Thursday Ladies Finals Series were played with a strong representation of the Club.

In the Juniors the Club had five teams in the Semi Finals, and unfortunately all were defeated and some by the narrowest of margins:

  • The A Grade 1 team were defeated by Buckley Park by 6 games. The team consisted of Jheevith, Jake, Harry, Sienna, Ellie, Megan and Kai.
  • The A Reserve 2 team were defeated by St Christopher’s by 32 games. The team consisted of Jaidyn, Ronald, Ayla, Saskia, Jye and Rebekah.
  • The B Grade 2 team were defeated by Oak Park by a single game. The team consisted of Oren, Gus, Tomo, Tom and Reza.
  • The C Reserve 2 team were defeated by Ascot Vale by two games. The team consisted of Dean, Peter, Ethan and Olivia
  • The D Grade 3 team were defeated by St Therese’s by two games. The team consisted of Ansh, Chelsea, Dylan, Delicia, and Abhiram.

The Thursday Ladies Section 4 team made the Semi Final and unfortunately were defeated.
