Pennant Finals Update

The Club’s Pennant Team won their Final last Sunday defeating Eaglemont. The Team, consisting of Warren Peters, Kalvinder Gill, Aaron Sharpe, Ben White, Kieran Benton, Tim Benton and Trevor Peters, won all Rubbers on the day.

The Team now advance to the Group stage, where all of the Section Finalists in the same Grade play each other.

This week the Team plays Heathmont in a knock out Final at Home this Saturday the 16th of August at 12:30pm. The Committee wishes the team luck for the match.

Pennant Finals Next Week

Congratulations to the Club’s Pennant Team who have advanced to the Pennant Finals Round next week. The Team finished on top of the ladder after the regular season and will play in a Home Final next Sunday afternoon at 12:30pm against Eaglemont.

The Pennant Semi Final is likely to use all three Courts next Sunday, which means that the will likely not be any Court available for Members to use.

The Committee wishes the Team luck next week.

NSJTA Autumn 2014 Semi Finals Results

Congratulations to the Club’s C Special 4 Unisex team who won their Semi Final on Saturday. The Team, consisting of Callum Brown, Campbell Goring, Matthew Pesavento, Jared Gaylor, Nikola Savic and Adele Adams defeated West Brunswick at Riverside.

The Team now play Buckley Park at West Brunswick in the Grand Final this Saturday. We wish the Team luck in their Grand Final.

NSNTA and NSTA Autumn 2014 Semi Finals Update

Two of the Club’s Ladies Night Teams played in Semi Finals last Tuesday night with one of the two moving on to the Grand Final this Tuesday night.  The Club’s Saturday Afternoon Open Singles / Doubles A Grade Team also played in a Semi Final recently and were unfortunately defeated as well.

The B Grade 1 Ladies Team defeated Taylor’s Lakes quite convincingly 35 to 9. Ashely Mann, Vicki Cohen, Jan Fielding and Karen Relf played on the night and the Team will play Keilor at Buckley Park this Tuesday.

Unfortunately the C Special 1 Ladies Team were defeated by Merlynston by two games, 24 to 26. Sue Duras, Marion Wensor, Claire Mugavin and Maree Robertson played on the night and interestingly Doutta Galla didn’t play Merlynston during the season due to a forfeit and a washout.

The A Grade Saturday Afternoon Team, consisting of Warren Peters, Ben White and Michael Mann, were defeated by Coburg by 20 games who were too strong on the day.

The Committee wishes to thank all finalists for their efforts and wishes the B Grade 1 team luck for their Grand Final.

Juniors Spring 2013 Grand Final Results

Commiserations to the Club’s D Special 3 Unisex Team who were unfortunately defeated in last Saturday’s Grand Final.

The Team, consisting of Adele, Jared, Matthew and Callum, with Christine supporting the Team in reserve,  played very well and even though they put up a great fight, were defeated by Maribyrnong Park by 12 games. Congratulations to the entire Team for making the Grand Final after finishing second on the ladder.

The D Special 3 Unisex Team were the only Doutta Galla Team to make lucky enough to make the Juniors Finals, with the A Reserve 2 Mixed, C Grade 1 Unisex and D Grade 1 Unisex Teams having good seasons but missing out.

Thanks to all Players for playing this Season and to all Parents for assisting and supporting the Teams during the Year. We look forward to next season which will commence in early February.

Saturday Afternoon Grand Final Update

Congratulations to the Club’s B Reserve Mixed Team who won their Grand Final on Saturday. The Team consisted of Ashley Mann, Karen Relf, Will Egan and Trevor Peters who played on the day, as well as Annette Mann, Sophie McCann, Vicki Cohen, John O’Reilly and Clinton Shimmin, defeated Tullamarine / Gladstone Park by 14 games.

Doutta Galla started the match strongly, winning the first two sets and setting up an early lead. Tullamarine / Gladstone Park played strongly in the remaining sets but Doutta Galla were too strong in the end.

Commiserations to Tullamarine / Gladstone Park after a great final and well done to the Team for the Win.

The Men’s A Reserve Singles / Doubles Team will play their grand final this Saturday at Royal Park.

NSNTA Grand Finals Update

Congratulations to the Club’s Mens B Special 1 Team who won their Grand Final last night against Keilor East at Deer Park by just one game.

The Team, consisting of Mark Swindon, Kieran Benton, Greg Forbes and Jason Jacobi with Tim Benton and Wally Wagner in reserve, had a late start due to heavy rain. All Players worked with the hosts to clear the courts after the rain cleared and the courts were playable after a period of time.

The first two sets were even at 6-5 and 5-6, and Keilor East took the lease during the next two sets winning one 3-6 with Doutta narrowly winning the fourth set 6-5.

Doutta Galla finished strongly narrowly losing the 5th set 6-5 and winning the 6th set 6-2 , winning the match by one game.

All players on both teams played well in windy and cold conditions. Commiserations to Keilor East after a great match highlighting the high standard of the competition witnessed all season.

Thanks to all players for a great season. The next season starts in February.

NSTA Semi Finals Update

Congratulations to both of the Club’s NSTA (Saturday Afternoon) teams who won their Semi Finals over the weekend and both have advanced to the Grand Final.

The Men’s A Reserve Singles / Doubles Team consisting of Warren Peters and Michael Mann finished third on the ladder and defeated Maribyrnong Park at Maribyrnong Park by one game.

The Mixed B Reserve Team finished first on the ladder and also defeated Maribyrnong Park. Karen Relf, Ashley Mann, John O’Reilly and Trevor Peters played on the day and reached an unbeatable led by 19 games prior to play being abandoned due to heavy rain.

As many Semi Finals over the weekend were washed out, the remaining Semi Finals will be played this Saturday the 30th of December with the Grand Finals likely to be played the next Saturday the 7th of December.

Well done to both teams and good luck for the Grand Final. Members are welcome to attend the Grand Finals to support our teams.

NSNTA Spring Semi Finals Update

The first week of the NSNTA Spring Finals has been completed and one of the Club’s two teams in Semi Finals won and are through to the Grand Final.

The Mens B Special 1 Team defeated Hillside 28 games to 25. The team, consisting of Mark Swindon, Kieran Benton, Greg Forbes and Jason Jacobi, played well all night and are through to the Grand Final this Thursday against East Keilor at Deer Park. The Committee wishes the team luck for the Final and any Members are welcome to attend to support the team.

The Ladies C Special 1 Team, consisting of Sue Duras, Melissa Hardwick, Virginia Glassford and Marion Wensor were unfortunately defeated by West Brunswick 23 games to 32. Commiserations to the team after a great season.

 

 

NSNTA Spring Semi Finals

The NSNTA Spring season has finished and Finals are upon us. The club has two teams competing in Semi Finals this season:

Ladies
C Special 1 – Doutta Galla vs West Brunswick at Taylor’s Lakes

Mens
B Special 1 – Doutta Galla vs Hillside at Sunbury

Good luck to all teams playing in the Finals.
