Congratulations to the Ladies B Reserve 1 Team who won their Grand Final last Tuesday Night. The Team of Ashley Mann, Vicki Cohen, Jan Fielding and Annette Mann defeated Avondale Heights in a close 31 games to 28. Well done to all members of the team for a great win.
The Mens A Reserve 2 Team’s Grand Final was washed out last Thursday Night due to rain. The match will be played this Thursday Night the 6th of June at Avondale Heights. Good luck to all.
The first week of the NSNTA Autumn 2013 Finals Series is complete, with two of the Club’s four finals teams winning their Semi Finals.
The Ladies B Reserve 1 Team consisting of Ashley Mann, Vicki Cohen, Annette Mann and Kathy Glass defeated Diggers Rest by 14 games (32 to 18). The Team play Avondale Heights at Buckley Park next Tuesday.
The Mens A Reserve 2 Team consisting of Michael Mann, Luke Hall, Marty Miles and Aaron Sharpe defeated Strathmore by 7 games (33 to 26). The Team play St Vincent’s at Avondale Heights next Tuesday.
The Mens B Special 1 Team consisting of Warren Peters, Greg Forbes, Jason Jacobi and Tim Benton were defeated by Fawkner by 14 games.
The Mens B Special 3 Team consisting of Simon Philpot, David Shaw, Russell Bedggood and Rob Temple were defeated by Hadfield by 23 games.
Good luck to our Teams in their Grand Finals this weekend and commiserations to those not as lucky.

The Selection Committee is currently organising the Teams for next Season. Could all players interested in playing in the Autumn Season please place their name on the Sign Up sheet on the Notice Board in the Club house as soon as possible or send the Club an Email to express their interest in playing.
Please do not assume that if you played this Season that you are down to play next season, all players must express their interest to the Selection Committee in playing to be placed in a Team.
Please note that the Selection Committee will make every effort to organise and group players and teams as requested, however this may not always be possible.
The NSNTA Regular Season has come to an end and the Finals are set to commence this week.
Ladies

The NSNTA 2013 Autumn Season has commenced, with the Mens competition starting last Thursday the 31st of January and the Ladies commencing tomorrow on Tuesday the 5th of February. Fixtures are available on the NSNTA Website.

An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) has been installed in the Clubhouse in recent weeks to be used only in an emergency. The Committee is looking to commence training soon and there are easy to use instructions contained on the unit should an emergency arise.
If any Members are interested in attending Training on the use of the Defibrillator please contact the Committee.
Please be aware that the Defibrillator is only to be used in an extreme emergency only and there will be severe penalties for any misuse. Please report any misuse, attempted misuse or usage to the Committee as soon as possible.
The Doutta Galla Tennis Club’s Open Day will be on Sunday the 20th of January 2013 from 12pm onwards. The Open Day is a great chance to visit the club, have a hit with our Coaches and learn more about the great game of Tennis. Free Tennis Lessons, Activities and a BBQ will be available and everyone is welcome, especially those who are not members of the Club.
This event is great for Kids and Adults alike who are thinking of picking up tennis and are not sure where to start.
The Doutta Galla Bowling Club will also be holding an Open Day during the same time, all are welcome to try both sports.
The Doutta Galla Christmas Party will be held this Saturday the 15th of December from 6pm at the Clubhouse. A BBQ will be provided but please bring your own Drinks, Snacks and Racquets. Please also bring a Plate to share. The Committee hopes to see everyone there for what will be a great night.
Doutta Galla had three teams playing in Grand Finals this week and two have been victorious and won their matches:
The Mens B Special 4 Team on Thursday night defeated Tullamarine by only 1 game at Strathmore. The Team consisted of David Shaw, Will Egan, Russell Bedggood and Robert Temple played on the night, with Michael Benton, Terry Benton and Simon Philpot supporting the players. This team also won their Semi Final by one game from 4th on the Ladder. Both Tullamarine and Doutta Galla played in very hot conditions and played very well in a very, very close match.
The Mixed B Reserve Team on Saturday afternoon defeated Green Gully by 14 games at home. The team consisted of Sophie McCann, Tracey Mamey, Trevor Peters and Clinton Shimmin with Annette Mann, Karen Relf and Will Egan lending their support and were undefeated all season.
The Mens A Reserve Team on Saturday were unfortunately defeated by Merlynston by 12 games. The team consisted of Michael Mann, Warren Peters, Aaron Sharpe and Tim Benton played well but Merlynston were too strong.

The Mixed B Reserve Team consisting of Karen Relf, Sophie McCann, Trevor Peters and Will Egan defeated Tullamarine / Gladstone Park by 21 games. They play Green Gully at Doutta Galla on Saturday Afternoon.
The Mens A Reserve (Saturday) consisting of Warren Peters, Michael Mann and Tim Benton defeated Avondale Heights by 12 games. They will play Merlynston at Merlynston on Saturday Afternoon.

The Ladies C Special 1 Team consisting of Sue Duras, Maree Robertson, Marion Wensor and Virginia Glassford were narrowly defeated by Merlynston by 2 games.
The Mens B Special 1 Team consisting of Walter Wagner, Warren Peters, Jason Jacobi and Tim Benton were defeated by Tullamarine by 13 games.
